• What is C-PTSD?

Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) develops from prolonged, repeated trauma, often in childhood, like abuse or neglect. As a Trauma Recovery Coach who’s lived through C-PTSD, I’ve seen how it can leave you feeling stuck in survival mode, struggling with trust, and overwhelmed by emotions. It’s more than a single event—it’s the lasting impact of ongoing harm, but healing is possible with the right support.

  • Symptoms of C-PTSD

C-PTSD symptoms can feel like a heavy weight—hypervigilance, emotional overwhelm, feeling disconnected, or dreading daily life. You might struggle with low self-worth, intense shame, or physical tension, like constant soreness. As a coach who’s been there, I understand how these symptoms can make you feel trapped, but they’re signs of your survival, not your failure, and there are ways to find relief.

  • What is PTSD?

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) often stems from a single traumatic event, like an accident or assault. It can lead to flashbacks, nightmares, and avoidance of triggers. As a Trauma Recovery Coach, I’ve learned that while PTSD is deeply challenging, it’s a response to a specific moment of trauma, and understanding it can be the first step toward healing.

  • How Are C-PTSD and PTSD Different?

While PTSD often follows a single event, C-PTSD comes from ongoing trauma, like childhood abuse, leading to deeper struggles with trust, self-worth, and emotional regulation. As a Trauma Recovery Coach with C-PTSD experience, I’ve seen how C-PTSD can feel like a constant survival mode, but both conditions can be supported through compassionate, trauma-informed care.

  • Finding Extra Help and Support

If you’ve tried therapy, medication, or psychiatrists and still feel stuck, coaching can offer a new path. As a Trauma Recovery Coach who’s lived through C-PTSD, I provide a safe space to talk, share, and heal with someone who truly gets it. Sometimes, connecting with a survivor who’s walked the same road can be the extra support you need to find peace.

Who am I?

A Survivor Turned Coach

Hello! I am Talia. I grew up in New Jersey in a home filled with generational trauma—addiction, abuse, and domestic violence shaped my childhood. Raised by a single mom who struggled with mental health and addiction, I witnessed years of violence and lived in chaos, facing poverty, neglect, and my own abuse. My dad was supportive, but I saw him less often as a kid. C-PTSD left me on edge, always waiting for the next threat, and I struggled with suicidal ideation, misdiagnosed ADHD (really C-PTSD), spending time in psych wards and therapist’s office. At 16, I entered a therapeutic community and worked hard to rebuild my life, though C-PTSD made me feel unworthy of success. I finished high school, got a job, and built a successful corporate career without a college degree, but the constant dread and self-doubt lingered. Five years ago, I hit a turning point—despite my successes, I kept choosing unhealthy partners, a pattern tied to my C-PTSD, and felt broken inside, like I didn’t deserve happiness. A trauma therapist helped me see this, teaching me healthy coping skills to manage the hypervigilance and shame. Last year, I bought my own home in the peaceful country, a dream come true. While living in an apartment, actively buying that home, working full-time, and navigating a struggling relationship, I earned my Trauma Recovery Coaching certification. In this home, I’ve found great peace in nature, embracing new hobbies like gardening, bird watching, walking, reading, meditating, prayer, and taking local classes. Now, I’m here to help you know you’re not alone—I see you, hear you, and understand you. You’re not crazy, and healing is possible.
